Most organizations move through four stages of data and AI maturity. Knowing where you are tells us where to start — and what it takes to move up. Here's the short version; the full white paper goes deeper on each stage with assessment criteria.

Reactive

You report on what happened. Dashboards exist, but they're slow, manual, and rarely drive action.

Proactive

You monitor key metrics and surface issues quickly. Decisions are data-informed but still manual.

Predictive

You forecast what's likely to happen. AI and ML models guide decisions, optimize operations, and reduce risk.

Autonomous

Decisions happen at machine speed. Intelligent systems detect, decide, and act — with people focused on strategy.

The point isn't to be at the top

Autonomous isn't the goal for every decision in your business. The goal is to move the decisions that matter most up the curve, deliberately — and to stop pouring effort into the ones that don't need it. Maturity is about fit, not bragging rights.

How to use this curve

Pick your three or four highest-value decisions and place each one on the curve honestly. The gaps between where they are and where they should be become your roadmap — and usually your strongest business case for investment.
